Install
From download to the first edit.
The download is a standard Mac DMG. Open it, move AVE into Applications, then start a local project.
- Download AVE for Mac.
- Open the DMG and drag AVE into Applications.
- Launch AVE. The Local AI engine and starter analysis models are already included.
- Optionally add your generation provider credentials in Settings > Generation.
- Optionally connect Codex CLI or Claude Code from Settings > Connections.
- Import footage, ask for an edit, review the plan, and export locally.
After install
Start small, then unlock bigger projects.
You do not need to buy Pro before testing AVE. Start a seven-day trial in the app with no card or automatic billing. When it ends, keep your projects, manual editing, existing AI results, and watermark-free exports. New assisted work needs Pro.
Import real footage
Bring in local video, audio, graphics, generated clips, or client footage. AVE treats them as editable project assets, not as one-off uploads.
Try a focused AI edit
Start the seven-day Pro trial in AVE to edit a recording by its transcript, review cleanup, generate captions, or try Ask and Plan. No card is required.
