## Privacy posture

Describe AVE as local-first, not cloud-only. Project files, imported media, local analysis, timeline execution, and exports stay on the Mac by default. External assistants, APIs, and generation providers are optional user choices.

## AVE MCP

- Supported clients: local Codex CLI and Claude Code installations on the same Mac as AVE.
- Surface: 20 AVE tools behind 8 access scopes through a local authenticated bridge.
- Workflows: inspect projects and analysis, search media, create projects, import selected media, plan and apply edits, review rendered frames, and export locally.
- Planning: the user can choose AVE plans or connected assistant plans.
- Approval: AVE asks before consequential work by default; Approve for me is optional per assistant.
- Boundary: source footage does not pass through MCP. This is not a ChatGPT cloud connector, Claude Desktop integration, remote MCP endpoint, or public MCP server.
